UL 924 Listed Exit Signs & Emergency Lighting

UL 924 is the ANSI/UL standard for Emergency Lighting and Power Equipment. Listing under UL 924 is required by NFPA 101, the International Building Code (IBC), and NEC Article 700 — making it the most universally accepted certification for exit signs and emergency lighting across the United States and Canada.

What UL 924 Means for Your Installation

A UL 924 Listed product has been independently tested to operate correctly during a power failure, provide sufficient illumination at the sign face, and maintain functionality for a minimum of 90 minutes on battery backup. AHJs, fire marshals, and building inspectors routinely require proof of UL 924 listing before approving an installation.

  • Accepted by all US and Canadian AHJs
  • Required by NFPA 101, IBC, and NEC 700
  • 90-minute minimum battery runtime verified
